Chris Rock announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19 while urging the public to get vaccinated.
The American comedian shared the news of his diagnosis on Sunday and appears to be battling symptoms, although he did not specify the severity of his illness.
In a tweet, Chris wrote: “Hey guys, I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want that. Get vaccinated. ‘
His supporters expressed empathy for his plight, with one sharing: “You are so right about it. I got sick just over a week ago when my 9 year old tested positive. I’m so grateful that my kids and my husband are doing well, but it kicked me hard. I’m better but the cough is still awful and still tasteless and odorless. I am fully vaccinated.
Another said: “I couldn’t imagine if I hadn’t been vaccinated what would have happened. I really hope you get over it quickly and thank you for being on the right side of science. The vaccine saves everyone’s lives, please get yours.
Chris, 56, showed his support for the Covid vaccination program earlier this year and said he “can’t wait” until he can get the vaccine.
Speaking to Gayle King on CBS Sunday Morning in January, the comic explained, “Let me put it this way: Do I take Tylenol when I have a headache? Yes.
“Do I know what’s in Tylenol?” I don’t know what’s in Tylenol, Gayle. I just know my headache is gone. I know what’s in a Big Mac, Gayle? No, I just know it’s delicious.
In May, Chris revealed he received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

He told the talk show host, “I’m double-barreled rock, that’s what they call me.”
Everybody Hates creator Chris then joked that he cut the line at the vaccination center, adding, “I didn’t care. I used my celebrity, Jimmy. I was like, “Stand aside, Betty White, I did Pootie Tang. Stand aside, old folks ”.
“I was like Billy Zane on the Titanic. Leo [DiCaprio] deceased. Billy Zane lived to see another day. I don’t want to be a Lion at the bottom of the ocean. Billy Zane had another wife after this thing. You actually want to be Leo, but not in this movie. ‘
Chris revealed that he didn’t suffer from any side effects from the jab other than, jokingly, “a little foot sticking out of my ass.”
