Christina Ricci received a domestic violence restraining order against her husband James Heerdegen on Wednesday in Los Angeles after telling court she ‘got trapped in a house with a violent abuser’ amid the lockdown of the coronavirus.

The actress, 40, told court Heerdegen assaulted her on multiple occasions, TMZ reported, leaving her in fear for her safety and that of their six-year-old son, Freddie, as she also shared pictures of his bruised body.

Ricci, who is represented by lawyer Samantha Spector, submitted photos of bruises and other injuries to the court which she said were the result of Heerdegen’s attacks on her.

The court ordered Heerdegen to stay at least 100 meters from Ricci and their son, and not to maintain contact with them.

The Santa Monica native said Heerdegen, whom she married in 2013, started her pattern of violence in a December 2019 incident in which he beat her, spat on her and made fun of her with pork noises.

She said the incident convinced her that she needed a divorce. The mothers and daughters star said the pandemic lockdown slowed down the divorce process, it ended up attacking it in two separate incidents in June 2020.

Ricci told court she was injured by cuts and bruises after throwing her into a hostel during an incident after physically dragging her by the wrists outside.

In a subsequent attack, Ricci told the court that their son witnessed an attack in which Heerdegen spat at him and threw a chair and coffee in his direction.

Ricci told the court she was alarmed by a remark Heerdegen already made to her at the end of 2019, when Heerdegen “ said something that made me think that [he] could kill her.

She said Heerdegen told her that ‘the only way for him to feel sorry for me is to tear me up into small pieces’, which led to her hiding knives and sharp objects at the scene.

Larry Bakman, who is Heerdegen’s attorney, said his client “ unequivocally denies all of the abuse allegations made by Ms Ricci as having occurred in 2020, ” TMZ reported.

Heerdegen intends to file a restraining order against Ricci that will reveal “ his abusive conduct fueled by alcohol and drug addiction, ” his lawyer said.

Ricci also asked the court to block Heerdegen’s potential efforts to “ humiliate and embarrass him ” with audio and video clips he amassed during their relationship.

In July last year, an emergency protection order was granted last week against Heerdegen after he allegedly spat on her.

The order, which bans all contact between the couple, came after the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a domestic violence call.

The former child star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason she wants to end the marriage and seeks sole legal and physical custody of their son.

Ricci and Heerdegen tied the knot in 2013 after starting a relationship in 2011 after meeting on the set of ABC’s Pan Am.

She previously spoke about how marriage and motherhood changed her.

“ Marriage shows you your flaws in the way you handle things and having a child forces you to grow up at the speed of light, ” she told The Edit 2017. “ I am a person. completely different from what I was before I had my child. “.

She wrote: ‘Because I was so famous for being a kid I think I kept that immaturity for a very long time. This is what made me special. Then at some point, like 35, it’s not that special to be immature.

Ricci and Heerdegen announced their engagement in February 2013 and tied the knot in October. They exchanged vows in front of their closest and dearest family and friends at Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
