When city police arrived at Joshua Kendall’s home at 968 Market Street to investigate a domestic disturbance at around 11:10 p.m. on September 15, Kendall showed up at the door and said he did not have needed their services and they could leave, the court records indicated. Police explained to him that they had to speak with both parties and that they would not leave until he had had a word with his girlfriend, Brenda Shultz, according to an affidavit.

Police are now alleging that Kendall, 37, hit Shultz and locked her in a room, according to the affidavit. He told Shultz he would kill her if she ever left him, police said. Following his arraignment before William Solomon for false imprisonment, terrorist threats and common assault, Kendall was held in Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $ 50,000 bail.
