NEW ULM – New Ulm City Council will consider an application to rezone the 2010 S. Broadway property as a service business district.

The Planning Commission had previously recommended approving Christopher and Laura Williams’ request to change the zoning from limited business district to service business district.

The property was a service business district for 44 years, but was dezoned in September 2012. This request would return the property to the service company.

By reclassifying the property, a plumbing company could operate from the location.

A resolution will be submitted to council to approve an MN / DOT aviation grant.

The grant would be used for the reconstruction of the hangar pavement at New Ulm Municipal Airport. The council has previously approved the project. Federal funding for the project is $ 297,847. The state support subsidy is $ 49,767.04. The city is responsible for $ 21,328.73 of the cost.

Council will go into a closed session to discuss the bargaining strategy with local union groups AFSCME # 1204 and LELS # 150 and discuss a study on pay and classification.
