SPENCER, Iowa (KUOO) – We’re just days away from the start of the Clay County Fair.

This Saturday is the opening day of the fair, which will run until Sunday, September 19.

Clay County Fair CEO and General Manager Jeremy Parsons said things would likely be fairly fluid throughout the week due to the ongoing pandemic.

“I think we’ve learned that in the world things change and evolve and obviously you know for some of our suppliers it’s hard to find staff or maybe find products to sell. So you know that we are working with them and even for ourselves, sometimes it is difficult to have staff and so we are still looking for people to help organize this fair, but when all is said and done, you know, this will be the Clay County Fair you missed, ”Parsons says.

Parson added that the number of suppliers this year is in line with the targets of previous years.

“The fairground will look like it normally is, you know, so we’ve partnered with a lot of these vendors, and it’s not about not being able to be here, but it’s just a few challenges that ‘they’ve got to really get here. and maybe put on the full show they normally do at the fair. But, you know, it’s going to be a full fair, ”Parsons said.

Last year’s Clay County Fair was canceled due to the pandemic.
