Clemson will play The Citadel in its home opener on September 19 as a game plus a non-conference this season, the school said on Wednesday.

The Citadel was previously on the schedule in November, but the game has been moved due to the ACC’s 10-game schedule the league will play for this season only.

All opponents not at the ACC conference must adhere to the same testing and health and safety protocols as the ACC teams.

“We are extremely pleased to have been able to keep The Citadel on our schedule for 2020 as welcoming an FCS opponent from South Carolina State each year remains a key point of our planning philosophy,” said the athletic director. Dan Radakovich in a statement. “We are grateful to the ACC and the Citadel for their interest and hard work in preserving this non-conference game for our student-athletes, the Clemson community and the state of South Carolina.
