STUART, Florida – The Cleveland Clinic Florida announced Thursday that it has reached its COVID-19 vaccine supply limit and has suspended appointments at northern and southern Martin County hospitals and the hospital Weston, although Indian River Hospital continues to schedule appointments when supply permits.
Martin Health has scheduled approximately 2,000 vaccinations and 2,200 vaccinations at Weston Hospital for the coming week and will resume patient planning when there is an additional supply.
“Our appointment call centers have experienced an extremely high volume of calls since opening on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 for patients who meet the criteria for vaccination under an executive order from Governor Ron DeSantis,” wrote the Cleveland Clinic in a press release.
“We are working closely with the state of Florida to receive additional vaccine supplies early next week.
The Cleveland Clinic area of Florida announced Tuesday that it will begin scheduling COVID-19 vaccines on Wednesday.
Vaccinations will be by appointment only for those who meet the following criteria:
- Cleveland Clinic patients over 65
- Cleveland Clinic patients with certain high-risk medical conditions at risk for serious illness from COVID-19. This includes patients with obesity, cancer, COPD, chronic kidney disease, immunodeficiency, heart disease, sickle cell disease, pregnancy, and type 2 diabetes.
- Hospitalized patients meeting the criteria and discharged from the hospital
- Community health care providers and first responders.
Patients who meet the criteria can call and schedule their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The second dose will be scheduled after the first has been administered.
Patients at Cleveland Clinic centers in Broward, Palm Beach, and Indian River counties can call 954-659-5950 to schedule.
Patients at the Cleveland Clinic Martin Health can schedule their vaccination by calling 772-419-3308.
On Monday, the Cleveland Clinic vaccinated more than 2,800 caregivers in the area. These caregivers will receive a second dose after 28 days.
