Before going to an emergency clinic, emergency care center, or express care center for testing, the clinic asked patients to consider these options first:
- People with non-urgent COVID-19 symptoms and who have a primary care provider at the Cleveland Clinic should make an appointment for an online test in MyChart without consulting a provider first.
- People with non-urgent symptoms of COVID-19 who do not have a primary care physician at the clinic and want to be tested at the clinic can schedule a online virtual tour to see a provider who can order a test.
- People who do not have symptoms but still want to be tested for COVID-19 through the clinic can make an appointment for a test through MyChart.
These testing options help ensure that the hospital system’s emergency departments, emergency care and express care can provide timely treatment to patients with critical needs, the clinic said. The hospital system receives high volumes of patients, so wait times for patients with minor symptoms may be longer than average.
The clinic is one of many community locations where testing is provided. Self-test kits are available for free at many local libraries and for sale at most retail pharmacies.
People with severe symptoms of COVID-19 can get immediate care in the clinic’s emergency department 24 hours a day, the health system said.
