CNN admits promising Moderna vaccine development an ‘absolute success’ for Trump

Monday’s big news about Moderna’s promising coronavirus vaccine was such good news for President Trump that even the anti-Trump network, CNN, couldn’t deny it.

Moderna announced Monday that its vaccine was 94.5% effective according to an interim analysis from an advanced clinical trial. The announcement came a week after Pfizer announced that its own vaccine was over 90% effective in Operation Warp Speed.

CNN, which has spent the past four years constantly attacking the president and downplaying his accomplishments, took on a different tone amid Moderna’s latest development.

“It is a clear success and we have to recognize it,” said CNN presenter Jake Tapper. “The Moderna vaccine was made with funds from Operation Warp Speed… and I think it’s important that the people who work so hard… be recognized for that. And that’s the president. Trump who accepted. “

CNN chief medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta agreed, saying he “couldn’t believe” the pace between the discovery of the COVID-19 genetic sequence in January and the first vaccine trials that began in March.

It usually takes “years to really get these vaccines approved. It will be done in a year, so it’s worth celebrating and now we have some early data that we have to be very optimistic about,” Gupta said.

Tapper added, “All the scientists, everyone behind it all down to President Trump and Vice President Pence, congratulations on this great achievement.”
