Delays In Assigning Appointments And Delivery Drugs Are Some Of The Situations that must be experienced daily by oncological patients affiliated with the EPS Coomeva in Bucaramanga.

After several months of no solution to this situation and in a sign of indignation, some d & # 39; between them decided yesterday morning to make a peaceful demonstration in the park of San Pío.

As many patients are not healthy for the outdoor activities, their relatives came to represent them.

This has was reported by Gloria Amparo Arias, a bad cancer patient who has been battling this disease for two years.

"In many ways, we have asked the attention of EPS, In my case, I have five guardianships to ask for medications ents and the situation is the same, it is not now, "said Amparo.

Ms. Gloria stated that between November and December of the previous year she had to wait for the drugs and that this year her medications were delayed by about a month and a half.

"I finished the process, and it should have ended, but the drugs are delayed," he added.

In addition to the delays, what bothers the patients is that with the change of IPS, they feel that they have no support, or to whom to turn.

"It's just that no one shows us his face, and when we ask for something or make a claim, they make us walk from one floor to the other and no one gives us of reason, "says Gloria.

The situation of Gloria Arias, has also suffered from about 20 more oncology patients, who are in different phases of the disease.

"For us it is very complicated, because it can give us a relapse, some colleagues have worsened," said the patient.

Worktable

For his part, Flor Alba Arias, Regional Medical Director of Coomeva in Santander, explained that after the demonstration, they spoke with patients to find out about needs.

"We did a validation with each case and we were able to confirm that the disagreement came from the IPS change that occurred a few months ago," Arias said.

According to the director, it has been defined that a working table will be set up to address these issues with the provider and thereby improve the quality of service to patients, especially those in this program.

According to Flor Alba, oncology patients are currently being treated by the National Center for Oncology IPS, in the Master Cancer Centers and in the Chicamocha Oncology Clinic. "This change was made in order to provide a complete health service," said the director.

For the moment, patients are waiting for this new work table to stop presenting these disadvantages.

"This is not a problem now, we have asked for it many times and by many means, a companion of the program has died recently, in the demonstration we were accompanied by the mother, and in the case of her, there was negligence on the part of the EPS by not giving her timely treatment and medications, "said Gloria Arias.
