The coffee harvest exceeded 6.5 million bags, 2.5% more than the 6.4 million recorded in the first half of 2017.
Coffee production in Colombia rose 3.6% in June 2018 when it reached 1,087,000 bags, compared with 1,049,000 bags harvested in the same month last year, reported the National Federation coffee producers.
The coffee guild reported that so far this year the coffee harvest has exceeded 6.5 million bags, 2.5% more than the 6.4 million recorded during the first half from 2017.
In the last 12 months (July) 2017-June 2018) grain production exceeded 14.3 million bags, 2% more compared to nearly 14.1 million registered in the same period, said the report of the afetero union.
Specifies the ratio that so far this coffee year (October 2017-June 2018), production was almost 10.5 million bags, 2.6% less than the more than 10, 7 million bags registered during the same previous period.
Regarding external sales, the National Federation of Coffee Producers reported that in June, coffee exports exceeded 906,000 60-kg bags, 4.3% less than the almost 947,000 bags exported in the same month of 2017.
In the first half of this year, Colombia exported nearly 6 million bags, 3.1% less than the almost 6.2 million bags of bags placed abroad during the first six months of 2017.
In the last 12 months (July 2017-June 2018), exports of cereals reached 12.8 million bags, 1 , 2% less compared to more than 12.9 million bags registered in the same previous period, underlines the Federation in a press release
In the race of year coffee (October 2017- June 2018), Colombia placed on the external market approximately 9.5 million bags, or 6.8% less than the almost 10.2 million exported in the same period.
