Bershka is gaining ground in Mexico. The fashion chain, which belongs to the Spanish group Inditex, plans to open five more stores in the country during this year, which will add to the 72 outlets that it already has. In addition to planned openings, the company will continue the process of restructuring its commercial network in the Aztec market, begun in 2015, according to Excelsior.
Mexico is the third country with the largest number of Bershka stores in the world. The chain is also the second concept of Inditex with more presence in Mexico, after Zara, which has 83 stores.
Currently, Bershka has more than a thousand stores around the world. During fiscal 2017, the chain's sales reached $ 2,601, accounting for 8.8% of the total business of the Inditex group.
Inditex ends its 2017 fiscal year with sales of 25,336 million euros ($ 29,331.7 million) or 9% more than the previous year. On the other hand, the group's net profit rose by 7% to 3,368 million euros ($ 3,899 million). As at January 31, 2018, the Company operated 7,475 stores worldwide.
