The National Institute of Health reported that until this year were recorded in the country 32,470 cases of malaria of which 31,945 are pathological "Simple " and 525 " complicated ".

According to the entity, there was a notable increase in cases in the departments of Norte de Santander, Vichada, Vaupés, Guanía, Chocó, Antioquia and Nariño within the framework of the register in 25 departments of the country. .

To this are added the 52 cases of "complicated" malaria that have been reported in people coming from abroad with the symptoms of the disease. Altogether in the country there were 900 cases this year of which 850 are malaria "single" foreigners.

INS, in its latest epidemiological bulletin, revealed that 56.8% of cases of "complicated malaria" were concentrated in men between 20 and 24 years of age, in addition 104 cases were reported among Aboriginals and 83 among Afro-Colombians, located mainly in rural areas.

Health authorities have confirmed that in all medical centers in the country, special vigilance is given to people with symptoms such as fever, sweating, headaches and generalized muscle and joint pain. . to vomiting and diarrhea.

In case of presentation of symptomatology equal to that described, INS recommended that people go immediately to hospital centers.
