The Swiss company Nestlé will pursue its investment strategy and sales growth in Mexico, regardless of changes in the current economic, business or political environment, said Fausto Costa, executive chairman of the company. company in the country.

After the third meeting of the Pacific Youth Alliance in Cali, Colombia, the agri-food company maintains its long-term commitment to Mexico, despite the renegotiation of the North Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the recent electoral process that took place

"These events do not change the commitment to Mexico (in relation) with the investments, the expansion of its portfolio, the strategy of innovation and construction of Mexican talent. "says the business man.

He said that although adjustments can occur frequently, the important thing is to have the institutions and the space that will sustain n sustainable growth of the business and, at the same time, contribute to the country's economy.

Even the executive said that the Swiss company plans to invest to expand its factories, as two years ago with the infant nutrition factory in Ocotlan and in which it invested $ 245 million in 2016.

He noted that the development of new projects is still being discussed within the company. "What we can now say is that we are looking to work with the potential that Mexico has (…) because the idea is always to expand and new opportunities."

Costa recalled that Mexico is the fifth largest market in the revenue contribution of the multinational, which means that it climbed three places after being placed in eighth position in 2016, and he hoped that there would be further progress in this list.
