“We are looking for police officers – some who may have experience, others who may not have had experience,” said Thaddeus Thomas, community liaison officer with the airport police department. Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Airport Police Department is just one of many organizations trying to fill vacancies. Hotel and information technology companies also have the “Help Wanted” signature.
“With so many people unemployed and looking for opportunities to take up a position or have a job in the Indianapolis area, this is very important because a lot of these organizations are hiring and looking for qualified people,” Thomas said. .
“Have CVs, update your CV, be specific about what you are looking for and most importantly ask questions,” Thomas added.
According to a survey by Job list, hospitality jobs are currently unpopular. The survey indicates that these workers are leaving the industry in search of employment with higher pay and better benefits.
A company that offers benefits, USPS, is also looking to hire workers.
USPS is bracing for higher delivery demands during the peak holiday season, so they will be holding several job fairs to make sure business runs smoothly.
On Tuesday, the company hosted a job fair at the Clermont Post Office on Tansel Road.
Tomorrow they will be hosting another job fair at the Rainbow Post Office on West 16th Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Postal Service will hire for a number of positions with wages starting above $ 18 per hour.
