Coronavirus in Oregon: 1,650 new cases, 44 deaths

The Oregon Health Authority on Tuesday announced 44 deaths from COVID-19 and 1,650 new cases.

Oregon now averages 1,487 cases per day over the past week, down 36% from the summer high. Hospitalizations have now fallen to levels last seen in mid-August.

Where new cases are by county: Baker (10), Benton (14), Clackamas (119), Clatsop (8), Columbia (17), Coos (30), Crook (55), Curry (11), Deschutes (100), Douglas (68), Grant (2), Harney (16), Hood River (7), Jackson (81), Jefferson (5), Josephine (7), Klamath (113), Lake (19), Lane (132), Lincoln (8) , Linn (71), Malheur (70), Marion (154), Morrow (7), Multnomah (126), Polk (49), Sherman (3), Tillamook (3), Umatilla (110), Union (10) , Wallowa (2), Wasco (28), Washington (131), Wheeler (3) and Yamhill (61).

Who is dead: The state did not immediately release information about the death.

Hospitalizations: 733 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are hospitalized, down 36 from Monday. That includes 186 people in intensive care, down 21 from Monday.

Vaccines: 2,447 people have been reported newly vaccinated since Monday.

From the beginning : Oregon has reported 336,598 confirmed or suspected infections and 3,867 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has reported 5,171,059 doses of vaccine administered, fully immunizing 2,527,584 people and partially immunizing 223,316 people.
