Walensky said that even taking Delta and other factors into account, “it’s still well over 90% of people hospitalized who are not vaccinated.”
She added that there are “more than 10 times more people in the hospital who are not vaccinated compared to the vaccinated”.
And earlier in the briefing, she gave this statistic:
“Those who weren’t vaccinated were about four and a half times more likely to contract COVID-19, 10 times more likely to be hospitalized and 11 times more likely to die. “

This school district will provide $ 100 to vaccinated students
Public schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest school district, will donate $ 100 to students who receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
The district school board voted unanimously Thursday night to make staff vaccination mandatory by Nov. 1, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons.
The board considered a mandate for student vaccination, but ultimately unanimously approved a $ 100 incentive for MPS students aged 12 and older who provide proof of vaccination by November 1, including those who have already been vaccinated.
The highest number of deaths in Texas since the start of the pandemic
In the southern and midwestern states, hospitals are again inundated with COVID patients, most of them unvaccinated.
Texas has recorded the most deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Christina Martinez has been in a coma for six weeks with COVID and is now sharing this post about why she finally received her vaccine.
“People don’t like to be told what to do, but it’s for your own safety,” she said.
Some Republican governors are already threatening to sue the Biden administration over the mandates, but experts say the president appears to have strong legal status under the emergency orders and rules.
New York mayor says there is no vaccine mandate for students
There are no plans for a vaccination mandate for eligible students in New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Thursday, adding that the city is instead focusing on the physical return of students to classrooms on Monday.
“We just don’t think it’s the right thing to do,” he said. “We can keep any option on the table. But for now, no. We want all the kids to go to school.”
Biden blows up passengers who harass flight attendants over face masks
President Joe Biden blasted travelers who harass flight attendants for not wanting to wear face masks and announced fines would double for those who fail to comply with the US federal mandate on transport masks.
“If you break the rules, be prepared to pay,” Biden said, speaking from the White House. “And by the way, show some respect. The anger you see on TV towards flight attendants and other people doing their jobs is bad. It’s ugly.”
In recent months, there have been numerous incidents involving flight attendants and travelers refusing to wear face masks and several videos of these encounters have gone viral on social media.
