Costco Now Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

Costco is one-stop-shop for anything you might need or want: fatty pizza slices, 27-pound buckets of mac and cheese, reasonably priced tequila. Now there is just one more thing to add to your shopping list: the COVID-19 vaccine.

The wholesale supermarket is now administering coronavirus vaccines to eligible patients across the country. According to an official update on its COVID-19 resource page, Costco “administers COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they become available, according to CDC and state guidelines.” California, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and Puerto Rico currently offer doses – typically, of the Moderna vaccine.

Of course, there are restrictions. With limited accessibility currently, the United States prioritizes healthcare and frontline workers, people 65 years of age or older, and people with underlying illnesses that make them more at risk, Costco wrote on his site. Availability also depends on certain state requirements. You may be eligible in some regions, but not in others.

“Costco is strongly committed to helping protect the health and safety of its members and employees, and to serve our communities,” the company said in an official statement.

Costco is not the only chain to offer COVID-19 vaccines, however. In fact, Sam’s Club, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens all administer doses. You can even get free rides to your appointment via Uber and Lyft if you go to one of the last two pharmacies.
