Could a player induce the 49ers to return in the first round?

History tells us that San Francisco general manager John Lynch will make an exchange at some point during the NFL draft. Is there a player in his twenties who will try to get Lynch back in the first round? There must be.

Earlier today, it was reported that the 49ers did not have an excellent meeting with Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf. Before that, I wondered if the team would fall in love with the talented broad. I'm also wondering if using it – just a few routes and never in the slot – has disabled Kyle Shanahan.

In my opinion, trading for a wide receiver – especially in this class – does not make much sense. We have seen teams doing strange things over and over again. Not just for quarterbacks. Tonight could be very revealing. Most of the defensive backs are mocked in the 20's range. That's where the defensive backstroke should take place. If the 49ers really want a Greedy Williams or Juan Thornhill, they might be tempted to go into the first one.

The other Ole Miss WR was a popular connection, especially considering Jerry Rice took him to "the hill". Otherwise, A.J. Brown or Hakeem Butler, a sneaky option is Iowa TE Noah Fant, who visited the 49ers. We'll know in a few hours, but if you had the responsibility, is there a player you would return to in the first round?
