Country singer Kylie Rae Harris released Wednesday a moving story on Instagram about her childhood memories of New Mexico. A few hours later, she died there. According to police, the 30-year-old Texan was killed in a car accident on Highway 522 with another driver, a 16-year-old girl, reported the AP. Harris was heading to Taos, where she was scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Big Barn Dance Music Festival, reports Today. Police say that alcohol was a determining factor in an accident, but they did not reveal which of the three drivers was intoxicated. "Everyone who knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and how much she loved music," said her manager in a statement. "The best tribute to his unparalleled enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as possible today and listen to music that inspires you fully."
In her Instagram account, Harris said going to Taos was difficult because the family members who lived there when she died are dead, reports CBS. "Today I drive on these roads for almost 12 hours and you would think it's so exhausting and boring, but these last hours of driving through the mountains and I just remember my place in the backseat as a little child … I started getting really sad and then all of a sudden these random cows appear in the middle of the road, "she wrote in.
