COVID-19: alert issued for exposure to two companies in the region

Health officials warn of possible exposure to COVID-19 at two businesses in the Hudson Valley.

The Putnam County Health Department issued alerts on Friday, November 13 for these two companies with dates and times.

World Gym, located at 1620 Route 22 in Brewster:

  • Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Harlan Check Cashing & Financial Services, located at 1515 Route 22 in Brewster:

  • Monday, November 2, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 5, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, November 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The people who tested positive were in those businesses during those days and hours, the ministry said.

Anyone who worked at these companies during this time should watch for symptoms of COVID-19, including:

  • fever,
  • chills,
  • shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing
  • fatigue, aches or pains,
  • headache,
  • new loss of taste or smell,
  • sore throat,
  • stuffy or runny nose
  • nausea or vomiting,
  • diarrhea.
