San Diego County has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations since June 15, the day California “reopened” and most health and safety protocols related to the pandemic were removed.
“We are seeing about double the number of cases reported about a month ago,” Dr Wilma Wooten, county public health official, said on Tuesday.

Sarvis said the winter push was a tough time for healthcare workers.

The county has said at this time that it does not consider any changes to its current mask rules. Earlier Thursday, LA County returned to requiring masks indoors in response to the increase in cases there.
