A total of five new cases of the coronavirus have been recorded, health officials said today.
The health department added that the flu vaccination sessions were canceled because there were no more vaccines.
A spokeswoman said: ‘This is due to an atypical increase in demand for the vaccine as well as a disruption in the supply chain due to the cancellation of British Airways flights.
“As a result, all walk-in services to get flu shots for the following weeks are canceled.
“This was previously scheduled to take place at the Hamilton Health Center.”
The coronavirus cases were all identified between last Friday and Sunday and were included in 2,235 test results that returned to health officials today.
They all came on flights from Miami or Toronto.
One of the cases, a visitor, arrived on the flight from Toronto last Friday.
Two of the cases were returning residents and two were visitors from Miami on Friday, November 5, November 1 and October 29.
The news means the island has now registered 214 cases of the coronavirus.
A total of 23 are active, 13 returning residents and 10 visitors, and none are in hospital.
The number of people who have recovered from infection stands at 182 and the death toll has remained at nine.
The average age of confirmed cases is 54 years and the age range is 7 to 101 years.
The average age of death is 74 and the age range is 57 to 91.
A total of 103 of the cases were imported and 90 were transmissions on the island with known contacts.
The number of infections that were transmissions on the island with an unknown contact stands at nine and none are under investigation.
Bermuda’s country status remained at “sporadic cases” and the seven-day real-time breeding number average is less than 1.
