DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Public Health reported a total of 575 hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in the state on Friday. This number is down 25 from yesterday.
Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, intensive care and ventilator use is also on the decline. The state reported 117 intensive care patients (up from 134 this time on Thursday) and 63 patients on ventilators (up from 69 on Thursday).
The state has reported in the past 24 hours that an additional 2,132 Iowans have tested positive for COVID-19, and the state has added 7 more COVID-19-related deaths.
According to state data this morning, a total of 282,435 Iowans have tested positive for COVID-19 and 3,898 Iowans have died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.
These data show that COVID-19 was the underlying cause of 3,578 deaths and that COVID-19 was a contributing factor in 320 deaths.
A total of 241,228 Iowans have recovered from COVID-19.
According to data made available by the state, 4,629 tests have been reported in the past 24 hours. In total, 1,359,654 tests have been carried out since the start of the pandemic. According to these data, the positivity rate in the last 24 hours was 46.1%.
