BIG FALLS – 43 new cases added to Montana’s response total COVID-19 tracking card Monday morning. Flathead County reported the most new cases, with 15; Yellowstone County added 11 and Big Horn County added 10. Carbon County reported two new cases and Cascade County added one.
The data below came from the official Montana site on August 17:
- TOTAL CASES AND RECOVERIES: Montana now reports 5,792 cumulative cases statewide, with 4,162 people recovered.
- HOSPITALIZATIONS: There are currently 94 hospitalized patients. There have been 330 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
- DEATH: Cumulative number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Montana remains at 82.
- ACTIVE CASES: State reports that there are currently 1,548 active cases of COVID-19 in Montana.
- TRIAL: The number of tests increased by 2,801 in the previous 24-hour period, to a new statewide cumulative total of 204,725.
Numbers reported by the state each day sometimes differ from those reported by county public health departments due to periodic delays in reporting data to the state. We encourage people to check the official website and / or Facebook page of their respective county health department for any updates that are not yet included in the daily state updates.
The three counties in the KRTV viewing area with the most cases are Cascade, Lewis & Clark and Phillips.
- CASCADE COUNTY: There have been 183 confirmed cases in Cascade County. Of these, 136 have recovered, 43 are currently active, and four have died.
- PHILLIPS COUNTY: There have been 93 confirmed cases in Phillips County. Of these, 41 have recovered, 52 are currently active and there have been no deaths.
- LEWIS & CLARK COUNTY: There have been 178 confirmed cases in Lewis & Clark County. Of these, 111 have recovered, 65 are currently active, and two have died.
