Sharon Alroy-Preis, head of public health at Israel’s health ministry, said the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) asked the ministry to brief its advisers at a meeting on September 17.
“We were asked to come and present Israel’s experience and our data so that we can really help the whole world learn,” Alroy-Preis told Israel’s Channel 12 news.

A week ago, Israel began offering a Pfizer COVID-19 booster to people as young as 12 as part of a campaign that began in July among the elderly. Israeli health officials said the driving slowed the increase in serious illnesses caused by the Delta variant.
So far, 2.6 million people out of a population of 9.3 million have received three doses of the Pfizer vaccine in Israel.
US President Joe Biden was scheduled to launch a campaign to administer 100 million callbacks on September 20. But U.S. vaccine makers other than Pfizer have been slow to seek approval for an additional dose.
