Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:

33 more cases reported today

A total of 3,009 residents of Humboldt County have tested positive for COVID-19, after 33 new cases of the virus were reported today.

County will receive 3,550 doses of vaccine

The state of California has allocated a total of 3,550 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Humboldt County for next week, 1,600 Moderna and 1,950 Pfizer. Public Health will use 500 at its second mass vaccination clinic, and the rest will be allocated to local approved vaccinators.

Vaccination priority has recently been expanded to include additional groups, although appointments continue to be offered when vaccine supply permits. Currently, the following groups are eligible for vaccination:

  • Phase 1A health workers
  • Humboldt County residents aged 70 and over
  • Emergency service workers
  • Kindergarten to Grade 12 and early childhood education, including educators and support staff
  • Licensed child care providers.

Healthcare providers who are licensed vaccinators speak directly to their eligible patients. Public Health communicates with people who are not already part of a skilled workforce using information submitted through the online vaccine interest form. All county residents are asked to complete the form to be notified when an appointment is available for their level.
