Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:

Thirty-nine new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed since the last report on Thursday.

The Public Health Data Working Group recently completed a routine audit of past illness, hospitalization and death reports and is making the following adjustments:

  • Twenty-three previously reported COVID-19 positives were withdrawn either due to false positive test results, unconfirmed presumptive positive test results, or because it was determined that the patient had not been a resident of the Humboldt County. That leaves a total of 3,025 positive cases since the start of the pandemic.
  • One hospitalization was deleted due to the false positive test result mentioned above and one new hospitalization was reported for a cumulative total of 124 hospitalizations.

In the vaccination news, awareness raising among residents is underway to schedule more than 2,000 second dose appointments this week. If the date for your second dose at the clinic is within five days and you have not yet been contacted to make an appointment, please contact your provider or call the Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000.
