  • 10,435 fully immunized residents represent 7.7% of the total county population and 9.3% of residents over the age of 16 who are currently eligible for immunization.
  • More than 15% of the county’s residents have received one or more doses, meaning about one in six residents have some protection against COVID-19.
  • Almost one in three residents aged 75 and over is fully immunized.

Vaccine data is updated every Wednesday. To access the dashboard, go to humboldtgov.org/Dashboard. To view vaccine data only, visit humboldtgov.org/VaccineData.

Twelve new cases of COVID-19 were reported today in Humboldt County. A previously recorded case has been determined to be from another jurisdiction, so the total number of county residents who tested positive now stands at 3,230.

Humboldt County public health officials continue to press the state of California for clarification on its recently updated guidelines on youth sports and adult recreation. While the state bans spectators for adult sports, “age appropriate supervision” of youth sports is permitted. Due to the lack of a precise definition of this term, public health officials will not place any restrictions on the number of immediate family members who can attend games or training, but will ask all who attend at a youth sporting event maintain a physical distance from household members and wear a face mask at all times.

Humboldt County Public Health Director Michele Stephens said: “Humboldt County continues to fully support common sense rules and regulations that prevent the spread of COVID-19 but will not endorse an approach to statewide that doesn’t really take into account our local conditions and other harms. the small businesses that are the backbone of our community. ”
