Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:

Eighteen more cases of COVID-19 were reported today, bringing the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus to 819.

Today, Humboldt County’s local case rate is 8.6 per 100,000 people, well above the 7.0 needed to go “purple”. Public Health calculates the local case rate based on the most recent case information, which is the difference between the state posted rate and the county posted rate on a given day.

On a related note, the OptumServe site located at Redwood Acres in Eureka will soon be expanding free COVID-19 testing to include Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the current week schedule. Starting Monday, November 30, tests will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week. The appointments for these new time slots are now available. To make an appointment via OptumServe:

Redwood Acres Fairgrounds is located at 3750 Harris Street in Eureka. Parking is available in the car park opposite the exhibition center.

OptumServe is contracted by the State of California to provide testing services to rural and underserved areas of the state.
