COVID in Delaware today: New coronavirus restrictions to take effect in Delaware on Monday morning

NEWARK, Delaware (WPVI) – Delaware Governor John Carney has released a third revision of the state’s COVID-19 emergency order, which comes into effect at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Under the new order, indoor gatherings at homes are to be capped at 10 people.

“These are tough decisions, but we are facing a tough and difficult winter,” Governor Carney said. “COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are increasing in Delaware and across the country. More than 250,000 Americans have already lost their lives to this virus. We are focused on protecting lives and targeting restrictions where we see the spread of COVID-19. Let’s all do our part. Wear a mask. Avoid gatherings with anyone outside your home. Consider celebrating the holidays a little differently this year. Stay alert and we’ll be fine.

Dining in the restaurants will be limited to 30% of the capacity of the place or 50 people.

Indoor religious gatherings are limited to 30% capacity or up to 100 people.

And face covers should be worn inside gyms.
