The University of Colorado Board of Trustees has called for nominations for the search committee that will work to find the institution’s next president. The Board of Directors is looking for candidates from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. The committee will include four members of the broader Colorado community to serve alongside CU faculty, staff, students, and alumni in an inclusive and transparent research process. Community members will sit on the committee in a non-partisan role. Regent Lesley Smith chairs the committee.
The application process to serve on the committee is open from September 22 to October 21. Those who wish to apply must complete and submit an online form. application form no later than October 21. The board plans to make final committee selections by mid-November. Being on the committee can be a huge time commitment. Research is expected to start in early December and continue until spring. The search committee will recommend the presidential candidates to the Council of Regents, which will make the final selection.
Presidential research is guided by Regent Politics 3-C, which details the composition of the committee and its activities. The council also published a website which provides the general context of the research. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
