"We have two sources of funding that the Federation sends us 9 million pesos and the state government, the governor who is very sensitive to health issues gives us 30 million pesos for these annual actions, which have worked we have reduced the number of cases by 80%, which is the resource that is really needed to control these diseases. "
He indicated that these resources are applied to the insecticide, vehicles, workers who make home visits, who are in uniform and with identification.
He said that for more than a year, they have redoubled their efforts since July 1, 2017, when they started this type of meetings.
He said that it was a very accurate follow-up of all vector-borne diseases.
He pointed out that they have reduced by 80% the number of cases with this work intensified in 9 places where they make this meeting every two weeks like: Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, Matamoros, Valle Hermoso, San Fernando, Altamira, Tampico, Mantis and Victoria City.
"We are in week 31 and for 2017 this week we had 270 cases of dengue and for the same week in 2018 we have 48 cases and we had 186 cases of Zika and now we have 0 Zika cases and we had three cases of Chikungunya and now we have 0 cases of Chikungunya being the municipalities in which these cases occur in Tampico and Altamira. "
He indicated that Tampico had 14 cases of dengue and 7 cases of Altamira, while last year, Tampico had 34 and Altamira 25 had significantly decreased by 80%
.
He said that 50% of the success in reducing the number of cases depends on the population and that the other half is shared between the municipalities and the Ministry of Health.
He referred to the fact that there is still a family reluctant to fumigate his home but he is working with the intervention of the city councils with what they have been able to do to decrease the number of refusals.
He explained that whoever gives him the guidelines to strengthen the actions against these diseases are the probable causes, but fortunately they have greatly diminished, but of an epidemiological scan when a probable case is detected, a patient who arrives at the Health Center with fever, with body pains, bones, and who are the first symptoms, is labeled as probable and the vectors are notified.
Later, he pointed out that the vectors go to the patient's home and that the fumigation is done as long as the results of the results are shown or not, and they check 9 manzanas around the identified house, as a possible case.
