The governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have yet to comment after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday dropped their recommendation to quarantine travelers for 14 days upon their return from trips to abroad or out of state during the coronavirus pandemic.
All three states have two-week quarantine requirements for travelers from 35 states and territories.
The CDC has updated its guidelines on its website. Although the two-week recommendation has been changed, the federal agency has warned travelers that they can still contract the novel coronavirus while traveling.

“You may feel good and have no symptoms, but you can still pass COVID-19 to other people,” the agency warns. “You and your travel companions (including children) can transmit COVID-19 to other people, including your family, friends and community for 14 days after being exposed to the virus.”
The CDC recommends that travelers wear face masks indoors, wash their hands, follow social distancing guidelines and monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19.
Fox News has contacted government offices. Andrew Cuomo, Phil Murphy, and Ned Lamont, but none immediately responded.

The CDC says traveling increases your risk of contracting and spreading the virus, noting that staying at home is the best protection against COVID-19 for you and others. If you must travel, the Federal Health Agency recommends travelers check government websites for recommendations for their destination as well as the places they will be passing during their trip. Requirements may vary by location, with some requiring those who have recently traveled to stay at home for two weeks, while others may allow a negative COVID-19 test in lieu of self-quarantine.
