Adam Kaciński, co-CEO of CD Projekt, praised Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on PS4 and Xbox One during an investor call.
Speaking earlier this week on Wednesday (and transcribed by Seeking Alpha), Kaciński said Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on the base PS4 and Xbox One consoles is “surprisingly good, I would say, for such a huge world.” The CEO went on to say that while the performance of these base consoles is lower than their “pro” counterparts (the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X), they are still surprisingly good.
Recently CD Projekt released gameplay for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077. “We’ve had those extra three weeks and we’ve achieved a lot in – in this last step,” continued Kaciński. “So we think the game works great on all platforms. Of course, depending on the capabilities of the platform, not all platforms should be great.”
The CEO is referring to Cyberpunk 2077’s delay, which pushed the game back from launch in November to its release next month in December worldwide. The delay is believed to be due to the game’s performance on the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, but Kaciński’s comments seem to indicate that these performance issues have been resolved.
Earlier this week, during a financial presentation, the management of CD Projekt discussed the marketing campaign for Cyberpunk 2077. With less than two weeks to go until the game launches on November 10, we’re poised to see a lot more. TV, radio and other commercials for Cyberpunk 2077 broadcast in up to 55 regions around the world.
