Authorities in South Carolina have announced that a Greenville man who had taken his daughter to a potential intruder and had her killed had been arrested for drug trafficking.

Greenville County MPs said officers responding to the shooting on Sunday morning found heroin and cocaine in Greenville's 43-year-old house, Jermaine Tramone Pressley.

Lieutenant Jimmy Bolt of the sheriff's office said in a statement that Pressley had heard someone try to get home, so he shot through a door.

According to the coroner's office, Nadeja Jermainequa Pressley, 23, was fatally injured. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Jermaine Pressley is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine. We did not know if he had a lawyer.

The shooting investigation continues.
