(KTIV) – Doctors say that most seniors should not take low-dose aspirin daily as a way to prevent a heart attack or stroke.

These are the latest recommendations from the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.

Experts say that it is more important to control cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar through lifestyle changes.

However, doctors can still recommend aspirin to high-risk patients, provided that there is no increased risk of internal bleeding.
