Derek Hough is absent from Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars”, host Tyra Banks announced, due to possible exposure to COVID-19 and “out of caution.”
Banks made the announcement on Monday night, although it was foreshadowed by the judge’s cancellation of the popular reality show from his show in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Through reporter Kristyn Burtt, Hough, 36, has tested negative so far.

Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby announced on Friday that they will be taking part in Monday’s Britney Spears-themed episode at home as they recover from COVID-19.
Burke announced in a video posted to Instagram last Sunday that she had tested positive for a groundbreaking case of COVID-19. “I just hope I haven’t spread it,” she wrote, adding, “for those of you who don’t think COVID is a real thing, it’s true, man.”
The case of Peloton instructor Rigsby was his second in 2021.

“Although I have been fully vaccinated and have taken many precautions, per CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID-19,” the 34-year-old said on Instagram on Thursday. “To rest and recover well as well as to avoid exposing others, I will be taking a break for the next few days. I appreciate all your support and will be back as soon as I’m ready.”

Monday’s show was planned as a tribute to Britney Spears, featuring Rigsby and Burke’s jazz routine on “Gimme More”. A source exclusively told Page Six on Monday that Spears, 39, was “aware” of the tribute, but on Monday night she was focusing on her thanks to her #FreeBritney followers on Instagram rather than commenting on the proceedings.
