For Danny Garcia to remain a potential opponent of Terence Crawford, former welterweight champion WBC needs Crawford to beat Amir Khan on Saturday night.

Unlike many of them, Garcia is not convinced that this is what will happen Saturday night when Khan will face Crawford at Madison Square Garden in New York. Garcia focuses on his own fight against Adrian Granados on Saturday night, but the Philadelphia native gave his assessment of Crawford-Khan during a conference call Tuesday.

"Honestly, I think it's a 50/50 fight," Garcia said. "I think Terence Crawford has more momentum in the fight than Khan, but I honestly believe it's a 50/50 fight."

Crawford-Khan (10)

Garcia stopped Khan in the fourth round to win his fight for the unification of the title at 140 pounds in July 2012. The speed and movement of Khan's hands made things difficult for Garcia, who lost two of first three rounds on the three dashboards (28-28, 28). -28, 28-28).

Garcia knocked down Khan once in the third round and twice in the fourth round before the 12 players scheduled were stopped at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. If Crawford is to join Garcia, Canelo Alvarez and Breidis Prescott as opponents who knocked out Khan, he expects it to happen later than his TKO of Khan has occurred.

"I think it's a good match because Khan is not an easy style to prepare," Garcia said. "You know, his hands are fast, his feet are fast. So, it will definitely be an entertaining fight. Terence Crawford is not really a pressure fighter, trying to knock you out with a punch. He will try to break you up and get you out of this place late. So, I think it's really an interesting match. "

Crawford (34-0, 25 KOs), of Omaha, Nebraska, and Khan (33-4, 20 KOs), of Bolton, England, will compete for the title of 12 rounds and will carry the title. See the show Saturday night (9 pm ET / 6 pm PT, $ 69.95 HD). Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) and Granados (20-6-2, 14 KOs, 1 NC), of Cicero, in Illinois, will face it in a 12-round main event FOX will air from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California (8 pm ET / 5 pm ET).

If Garcia and Crawford win, Top Rank Inc., the company promoting Crawford, will again try to get Garcia to challenge him later this year. A senior employee made a $ 4 million offer to Angel Garcia, Danny's father and coach, late last year for Garcia to face Crawford.

Angel Garcia has never responded to Top Rank's offer. Later, Arum agreed to give Khan a $ 5 million guarantee to face Crawford.
