– The latest state figures show which North Carolina public employee departments have the highest and lowest vaccination rates among workers.

The North Carolina State Office of Human Resources (OSHR) reports that 62 percent of all adults in the state are fully immunized. This figure includes people aged 65 and over, a group that has a high vaccination rate overall but represents a small portion of the workforce.

State data is based on approximately 59,000 permanent and temporary workers currently employed by Cabinet agencies.

The North Carolina State Office of Budget and Management had the highest percentage of employees vaccinated (91%) among the agencies listed. The Department of Public Safety had the lowest rate at 53 percent.

The Department of Environmental Quality and the Department of Administration both recorded a rate of 81 percent. OSHR had a rate of 85 percent.
