Nickelodeon Star Brawl has been out for less than a day, and players are already speculating that they may have found clues as to the additional characters who will be joining the platformer fighting game in the future. According to an apparent datamine leak, the in-game files include references to Shredder, Garfield, and other Nick characters who may be arriving soon.

The leak was originally posted on 4Chan but has since made its way to the ResetEra game forum and the Star Brawl subreddit. While the files discovered don’t exactly say who else will be joining the game, they do offer a lot of clues. One file references a scene from Garfield and includes a placeholder image for the lasagna-hungry feline. Another includes illustrations for Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesShredder, who seems to have been codenamed “cheese” as a play on words.

Then there’s a long list of placeholder announcer lines for a wide range of other Nick characters. These include Rugrats‘Tommy pickles and SpongeBob is M. Krabs, Squidward and Plankton. Jimmy Neutron and the Dog Holder Modern Rocko Life are also in the mix. While this sparked a new wave of fan speculation on who round Star Brawlthe final list of beyond the base game, it is important to remember that none of these names are confirmed or sure.

In fact, it’s not uncommon for games like this to include lots of placeholder references in preparation for plans that weren’t finalized or could change later. The game’s community manager, Thaddeus Crews, answered some of the questions regarding the game’s Discord leaks in advance.

“Raised concerns about data mining and was told content would be removed,” Crews wrote earlier today. “It was not deleted. At the same time, he said, “the vocal lines in the basics of the project cover the basics and are not absolute confirmations of what can and cannot happen.”

The crews also confirmed that everything planned for the base game could not have been ready at launch, and that the content suggested in the potential datamining leaks was most likely planned for the base game, as the DLC tracking has not yet been worked on at all. . But it still seems like a fair bet for what could happen.

Nickelodeon Star Brawl is currently available on PS 4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X / S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
