Raiders tight end Darren Waller was the officials’ latest casualty. With his back turned to the Chargers players, Waller planted the ball in the ground in celebration after making a critical catch midway through the second quarter, but the referees called him in for a taunt.

Several players have spoken out against the league for the provocative sanctions, but McKay said in September that the issue was originally raised by the NFLPA and NCAA.
