Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said last week that winning the NFL MVP award for the third time was important to him and that he did his best on Sunday to make sure he won the price.

Rodgers was 19 of 24 for 240 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-16 victory that clinched the NFC seed for Green Bay. He finished the season with 48 touchdown passes, a career-high, which has also led the league this season. He also led the percentage of completion and the passer rating.

After the game wide receiver Davante Adams did a little publicity for his teammate and said it was “pretty clear to me” that he was the league’s most valuable player.

“The MVP should be locked up,” Adams said, via the team’s website. “There is nothing else to really say. You look at what we did and what he was able to do, and they hit him with everything. [They] said he didn’t have any guns, and we’re going there and going 13-3 in the regular season, which isn’t our main focus, obviously, but it’s quite an accomplishment, especially when you are in your second year with new staff.

Adams has a dog on the hunt, but it has become difficult to make a strong argument against Rodgers for the MVP in the final weeks of the regular season.
