Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price put forward a tweet on Monday that featured team members heading to the White House to meet with President Trump, now that manager Alex Cora and several other minority teammates left the team.
The tweet, Steve Buckley of The Athletic, said: "Alex Cora confirmed the information published by a newspaper that he would not make the trip to meet the president. So, basically, it's the White Sox that will leave. "

The left-handed Red Sox then wrote a tweet from Buckley about the quote: "I feel just as if more than 38,000 people should see this tweet."
On the surface, it seemed that Price was endorsing Buckley's tweet. However, Price then clarified his position at the Boston Globe.
"It was an insensitive tweet that must be seen by more people. That's what it was, "said Price.
Cora announced on Sunday that he would not attend a White House ceremony commemorating the 2018 World Series championship of the team, citing issues related to Hurricane Maria's recovery in her home country of Puerto Rico.
"The government has done some great things here, but we still have a long way to go," said Cora. "It's our reality. It's pretty hard to celebrate when we're here. I would rather not go and be compatible with everything. "
Price had previously announced that he would not visit the White House because "it's the baseball season," according to the New York Post. Teammates Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. were also spectators who decided not to attend the ceremony.
