PSD Press Release: COVID-19 UPDATE FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SECURITY

HONOLULU – COVID-19 tests are carried out around the clock in state prisons and prisons as well as at the Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona. Latest test updates received for others correctional facilities are the following:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 103 inmate test results: One (1) positive, 102 negative. One (1) staff recovery was also reported. One (1) employee who had previously been reported as hospitalized was discharged from the hospital. One (1) OCCC employee remains hospitalized.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – One (1) new positive result for the staff reported.

Kulani Correctional Institution – One (1) positive staff test result reported.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – Three (3) negative results in inmate tests.

Community Correctional Center for Women – Two (2) negative results of the inmate tests.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Two (2) negative inmate test results.

The Department of Public Security (DSP) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to be voluntarily tested and vaccinated against COVID-19.
