Aaron Sorkin is writing and directing the upcoming Being The Ricardos biopic for Amazon following his streaming success with The Trial Of The Chicago 7 for Netflix.

While Nicole would be Lucy’s choice, Javier Bardem is in talks for the role of her husband and co-star Desi Arnaz, Deadline reported Monday.

In the final season of the Will And Grace revival, Debra emulated Lucille Ball as I Love Lucy.

She recreated a series of classic moments from the original sitcom, including Lucy’s “ Vitameatavegamin ” ad and her clumsy attempts to work in a chocolate factory.

When the news broke Nicole could be hired for the role, Debra got down to hard work for the role instead.

One fan pointed out that Debra told Variety last year that she previously didn’t want to play Lucille Ball for a TV project.

“Like 15 years ago, people were like, ‘Hey, you wanna do like a TV movie or something?’ And I always had the feeling, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t even touch that. she was untouchable, ”Debra shared with Variety at the time.

However, on Monday, when a Twitter user brought up the quote, Debra said, “ Ummmmmm, I changed my mind, ” with a blinking emoji.

Debra also retweeted several people saying they would prefer her as Lucy, including sitcom star Valerie Bertinelli who wrote: ‘Debra Messing was robbed’.

She retweeted messages like, “No way !!! Debra Messing would be perfect !! I always said she was the closest thing to Lucy for a long time. I love Nicole Kidman but I can’t see her as Lucy.

Another Twitter user wrote: “Nicole Kidman ??? Debra Messing is the perfect choice for this role. I love you, I don’t always agree with you, but you totally hit it on this, ”and was rewarded with a retweet from Debra.

Desi, who played Lucy’s conductor husband Ricky Ricardo in their show, had a tumultuous marriage to her in real life.

She first filed for divorce in 1944, reportedly for abusing him and drinking, but they got back together before finally breaking up in 1960.

In the meantime, they produced two children and the sitcom that made them legendary in television, from 1951 to 1957.

They also starred in films together throughout their marriage, including Forever, Darling, and Vincente Minnelli’s comedy The Long, Long Trailer.

Despite their divorce, in which she called their marriage a “ nightmare, ” Lucy and Desi remained publicly friendly for the rest of her life.

Lucy married comedian Gary Morton of Borscht Belt in 1961 and remained with him until his death in 1989, while Desi married an Edith Hirsch in 1963.

Edith and Desi both died of cancer within a year of each other – she died in 1985 and her husband, who loved cigars from his native Cuba, died of lung cancer in 1986.

Aaron Sorkin’s new biopic is about a week spent doing an episode of I Love Lucy in which Lucy’s and Desi’s marriage is rocked.

The hectic week, from the reading table to recording in front of the studio audience, would also put a professional earth mine on the couple.

As seen in 1958: She first filed for divorce in 1944, apparently because of her diligence and alcohol consumption, but they got back together before finally breaking up in 1960.
