Winneshiek County is approaching the 900 mark for COVID-19 cases this year. The weekend figures from the Iowa Department of Public Health indicate 887 all-time COVID-19 cases in the county, of which 524 have recovered, but ten people have died. This means that 353 people currently have COVID-19.

The numbers in the other five counties in northeast Iowa are similar. Clayton County has now had 999 cases of COVID. 436 of those people have recovered, while four have died, meaning 559 residents of Clayton County now have COVID.

Fayette County is also approaching 1,000 cases, with 944 people with COVID-19 since March, 371 people recovered and eight people deceased, meaning 565 residents of Fayette County are currently living with COVID.

Chickasaw County has recorded 781 cases of COVID-19, 582 people recovering and three reported deaths. This means that 196 people currently have COVID-19.

Allamakee County has recorded 709 cases of COVID-19, of which 362 are recovering and 11 have died, which means 336 people are currently living with COVID-19.

Finally, Howard County has had 499 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed. 260 of those people have recovered, while nine people have died, meaning 230 people are still recovering.

Across the six counties, 4,819 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the epidemic. 45 deaths have been reported. 2,301 people with COVID have recovered, meaning 2,473 people are still in quarantine or in isolation. That figure represents more than half of all residents of northeast Iowa who have had COVID since the start of the epidemic.
