PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A mother and father in the area are giving an emotional warning. Their son is currently in intensive care and they say it's because of his vaping.
The prognosis of Kevin Boclair is not clear. His parents are desperate and hope for a miracle.
This is a message that Mother Broomall never thought she had to share.

"Imagine your best friend dead in a bed with tubes coming out of every possible place you could think of," said Deborah Boclair.
His son, Kevin, survives day by day with vital assistance. The doctors told the Boclairs that they suspected that his serious illness had been caused by a vaping.
"It's hard, you think it will never happen to me, and suddenly I live it," said Kevin's father, Len Boclair.

Len and Deborah now want to announce what happened to their 19-year-old son.
"There are so many of his friends that I love, I've known them since childhood and I want them to stop. I want everyone to stop because even doctors will say they do not know everything, it's newer, "Deborah said.
Kevin was found at the hospital almost three weeks ago. A coughing fit triggered by asthma caused the formation of tiny holes in his lungs.
The state of the first cycle of Bloomsburg University worsened about ten days ago. He was eventually transferred to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital where he sits on a bypass machine of the heart and lungs.

Boclairs are gravely concerned by what doctors think happened to their son.
"The doctors say that the chemicals in the vape actually change the tissues of the lungs and that they are damaged, this damaged part heals and never improves," Deborah said.

"I even know that as a nurse, he could die. So we hope the situation will improve and I just want his friends to know and all those kids. I could tell the parents, "Tell your children not to do that," she said.
The CDC says that there are harmful chemicals in the vapes and electronic cigarettes. They also say that there are so many things that scientists need to know more about these products.
