Police and FBI agents arrested a Delta Airlines employee on Thursday for his alleged role in a $ 300,000 cash robbery at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, a police source told NBC New York.

The suspect, ramp agent Quincy Thorp, was arrested at his home in New York City Thursday morning by FBI agents and police officers for the New York and New Jersey port authorities. He is scheduled to appear before a federal judge in Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon.

Thorp is a ramp agent who came out "sick" by the time the money went missing, according to the source.

The money, which included both US and foreign currency, disappeared before it could be loaded into the Delta 1225 flight to Miami, sources said. The money had been delivered to the airport that day by an armored car.

The money has not yet been recovered.

A lawyer from Thorp and representatives of Delta Airlines could be reached immediately for a comment on Thursday.
