The Hamilton County Department of Health has received additional shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine and has added days to the appointment system.
The new first dose vaccinations will take place at Tennessee Riverpark Hubert Fry Center, 4301 Amnicola Freeway. Enter the Riverpark near the entrance to Chattanooga State; do not enter the state of Chattanooga.
Look for signs.
These are people with phase 1a1 or 1a2 status who live or work in Hamilton County and residents of Hamilton County who are 75 years of age or older.
It will be Tuesday as well as January 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and February 7.

Proof of compliance with phase or residency criteria must be presented upon entry. Proof of eligibility can be a document showing current address, job ID, badge, letter or email from your employer, or a pay stub. Must show proof that you live or work in Hamilton County.
In addition, new second dose vaccination days have been announced.
These will be donated to the Carta Bus Barn, 1617, boul. Wilcox. Enter through the last door at the corner of Scholar Avenue and Camden Street.
These are people with phase 1a1 or 1a2 status who live or work in Hamilton County and residents of Hamilton County who are 75 years of age or older. This is for those who received the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on January 4, 5 or 6.
It will be February 1, 2 and 4.

Due to the high call volume, callers may feel a busy signal and should continue to call back. Once the appointments are filled, the caller will hear a recording: “The call center is closed and the appointments have been filled.”
Vaccine distribution is guided by “phases” according to the Tennessee State Immunization Plan. Only people eligible for the current “phases” will be able to make an appointment. The current phases are 1a1, 1a2 (see below) and those aged 75 or over, and all must be a resident of Hamilton County or work in Hamilton County.
Groups of phase 1a1:
· Independent hospital / emergency department staff with direct patient exposure and / or exposure to potentially infectious material
· Home health workers
· COVID-19 Mass Testing Site Staff
· Student health care providers
· Long-term care facility staff and residents
· (Qualified nursing establishments, assisted living centers, homes for the elderly, DIDD accommodation centers, group homes)
· First responders with direct public exposure
· People over 18 who cannot live independently due to a serious chronic illness or intellectual or developmental disability
Phase 1a2 groups:
Other healthcare workers exposed directly to patients
· Primary care providers and staff
· Specialized ambulatory providers and staff working with acute patients
· Pharmacists and staff
· Patient transport
· Outpatient therapists
· Suppliers and emergency visit center staff
· Environmental services
· Oral health providers
· Behavioral health service providers
· Outpatient laboratory staff working with COVID-19 samples
· Funeral / mortuary workers in direct contact with the deceased
Age group support:
· 75 or over, must reside in Hamilton County
· No special medical condition is required
Please note that if you sign up for an appointment and are not in one of the current eligible stages or age range, you may be refused until your level is open for vaccination. Additionally, it could cause someone to miss their opportunity and jeopardize the limited vaccine supply.
Steps to plan your appointment
· The online appointment system is available 24/7 and will be open until all available appointments are filled.
· The call center will be open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until all available appointments are filled. The call center is closed Monday, January 18, for Martin Luther King Jr.
Important things to know before the appointment
· Arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
· Wear appropriate clothing to get a photo on the upper arm
· Bring proof of Hamilton County residency (if applicable)
· Bring proof of employment from Hamilton County (if applicable)
· Bring proof of age (if applicable)
· Bring the COVID-19 Vaccine Meeting Form (if possible; form available for download on the registration page)
· Be prepared to wait 20 minutes after firing
· Be prepared for the whole process to take an hour or more
When patients receive their first dose with the health service, they will receive a vaccination record with the following important information. Keep this card and bring it to the second meeting.
• The vaccine manufacturer (Moderna or Pfizer)
• The date the first dose of vaccine was administered
• The date on which the second dose of vaccine is due
